WORD

“This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.”

OBSERVE

These words of the Father were also heard when Jesus was baptized in the river Jordan at the beginning of his ministry.

At the mount, these words were once again heard.

It gives the impression that God the Father spoke this message to assure Jesus is God's beloved.

It tells us who read the Gospel that Jesus is the reliable source of revelation. It is through Jesus that we come to know what the Father wants and will for us.

RESPOND

Almighty Father you have taught us to listen to your Son.

May we also hear that we are also your beloved.

May it strengthen us when we are in doubt and difficulties.

Amen.

DISCERN

Make it a point during your prayer time during this week,

to affirm that we are also God's beloved children,

that God loves us.

"I am loved by God."
