Part 4 of a series
Annette Simmons, entitled one of her remarkable books, “Whoever Tells the Best Story Wins: How to Use Your Own Stories to Communicate with Power and Impact,” articulates a reality that everyone has an agenda.
I want to repeat that: “Everyone has an agenda.”
Most often, those cultured and wily enough would routinely deny such assertion trying to fabricate an aura of neutrality and objectivity.
They often accuse those who demand public manifestation of their agenda as bigots or prejudiced.

They would even cry “foul” because they feel they are being pushed into a corner that would constrict them from pursuing the truth. These people would not want that they are defined according to their “school of thought” because they would project that this world is not black or white but myriads of colors and greys.
So, they should not be made to choose between black or white because they would not.
Yet, they are playing ideological “hide and seek.”
People claiming they do not have an agenda are, at their very best, tautological. Having no agenda is an agenda in itself.
Furthermore, “having no agenda” is just the prelude to introducing real agenda.
However, despite their protestations of objectivity, neutrality, inclusivity, and pluralism, these (among many such terms) people want to portray the world according to what they think it should be. They have a story to tell, and they are winning.
