God answers prayers always... in his own time.
WORD
She said, “Please, Lord, for even the dogs eat the scraps that fall from the table of their masters.”

OBSERVE
The Gospel today strongly references the universality of the Good News.
However, also notable in this Gospel is the attitude of the Canaanite woman, she perseveres while at the same time, knowing how to wait.
When our prayers seem to go unanswered, most often because God wants our patient waiting to show forth the depth of our faith.
Just like the Canaanite woman whose deep faith becomes a shining example even for the disciples because she knows how to wait.
RESPOND
Heavenly Father, faith is your gift to us.
We accept our lowliness
We acknowledge that all the good things
we receive in this life is your gift to us.
increase our faith as we wait for its fulfillment
through Christ our Lord.
Amen
DISCERN
Reflecting on the past, what are the things you prayed for that God did not give or have delayed in granting?
How did you grow in your faith, given the seeming refusal of God?
